Job summary

Medibank in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Workplace Relations Advisor to join the People, Spaces & Sustainability team on a short-term contract. The role provides pragmatic, commercially focused advice across employee and industrial relations matters, partnering with People teams and leaders to navigate complex workplace issues.

What you'll do includes expert guidance on enterprise agreements, awards, investigations and conduct issues, as well as supporting policy development and workplace

Qualifications

• Experience in workplace or industrial relations.
• Knowledge of enterprise agreements, awards and applicable employment legislation.
• Ability to advise leaders and People teams on complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert workplace and industrial relations advice to leaders and stakeholders.
• Support investigations, conduct management and workplace disputes.
• Interpret agreements and employment laws to give practical guidance.
• Advise on organisational change, restructures, and risk related to workforce.
• Support policy review and development across employee-related topics.
• Collaborate with internal and external parties including unions and regulatory bodies.
• Contribute to projects ensuring compliance obligations are met.

• Providing expert workplace and industrial relations advice to leaders, People Partners and key stakeholders.
• Supporting complex employee relations matters including investigations, conduct management and workplace disputes.
• Interpreting enterprise agreements, awards and employment legislation to provide practical guidance.
• Advising on organisational change activities, restructures and workforce-related risk.
• Supporting policy review and development across a range of employee-related topics.
• Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders and, where required, external parties including unions and regulatory bodies.
• Contributing to workplace relations projects and helping ensure Medibank continues to meet its compliance obligations.

What we're looking for

Will bring demonstrated experience in workplace or industrial relations and be confident operating in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Experience managing employee relations matters, investigations and conduct issues.
• Strong knowledge of workplace legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
• Experience providing advice to leaders, People teams and payroll stakeholders.
• Exposure to union engagement and industrial relations matters.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• The ability to balance risk, compliance and commercial outcomes.
• Experience reviewing or developing workplace policies and procedures.

Experience within a People Partnering role with strong employee and industrial relations exposure will also be highly regarded. We're open to candidates from both large and smaller organisations, provided you can demonstrate broad hands-on experience across workplace relations matters
