Job description

MADEC Australia is a leading national provider of workforce solutions, employment services, training and support programs, having grown from humble beginnings as a Mildura-based community organisation more than 50 years ago. MADEC’s enduring purpose is to make a difference to people’s lives and break down workforce barriers by connecting individuals, skills and employers through integrated solutions.

Through the delivery of labour hire and seasonal worker activities, MADEC has played a prominent role in the labour market including large-scale labour hire on-shore operations as well as the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme, delivered in partnership with the Australian government and countries in the Pacific Islands and Timor-Leste by providing access to work opportunities in Australia.

MADEC is undergoing an exciting phase of transformation and business growth and has several new positions available.

This newly created role offers the opportunity to influence operational standards, build strong industry relationships and make a meaningful difference to the safety, wellbeing and success of workers across regional Australia.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Workplace Compliance Manager is responsible for driving safe, compliant and efficient workforce operations across multiple regions, ensuring workers, customers and workplaces are supported to achieve successful outcomes. This field-based role leads regional compliance activities, supports operational readiness, and promotes the consistent application of workplace compliance and WHS standards across diverse workplace environments.

Working closely with host employers, workers, government stakeholders and frontline teams, you will act as a trusted advisor on workplace compliance, operational readiness and workforce standards. You will play a key role in creating safe, compliant and productive workplaces while contributing to positive worker wellbeing and customer outcomes.

You have built your career in workplace compliance, operations, labour hire or similarly complex field-based environments, where balancing safety, compliance, customer expectations and operational outcomes is part of everyday work. You will have demonstrated experience conducting inspections, audits, risk assessments or compliance activities, together with a practical understanding of WHS legislation, operational requirements and risk management practices. Experience in customer account management, relationship management or business development will be highly regarded.

You are a confident and influential communicator who builds strong relationships with customers, workers and internal stakeholders. Your attention to detail, documentation skills and ability to deliver training, coaching and operational guidance will enable you to drive consistent standards and positive compliance outcomes. Practical and solutions-focused, you are comfortable working independently across multiple sites and environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, service delivery and stakeholder engagement. Success in this role requires resilience, adaptability, sound judgement, a strong sense of urgency, situational awareness and a collaborative, one-team approach.

A First Aid Certificate and/or Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety will be highly regarded. A current driver's licence, National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or equivalent) are required. Regular intrastate and interstate travel forms an important part of this role.

This position can be based remotely/hybrid but requires flexibility to travel frequently throughout Queensland, including Far North QLD (as far as Lakeland), and South-East QLD - Caboolture region etc.
