Job summary

The INS Group is seeking a Workforce Coordinator to manage 24/7 nursing rosters and gain exposure to HR, employee relations and performance management. This part-time role emphasizes coordinating shifts, vacancies, and communication with staff while supporting HR processes alongside our HR Advisor.

You’ll contribute to smooth operations, with a focus on developing HR-related skills and experience within a healthcare environment. Flexible hours and a supportive team are offered.

  • Experience working with nurses or other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to remain calm, practical and solutions-focused with last-minute staffing changes.

  • Interest in developing skills in HR and employee relations.

What you'll be doing

Rostering & Workforce Coordination

  • Coordinate and maintain rosters for our nursing staff across a 24/7 operation.

  • Manage shift vacancies and arrange cover for unexpected absences, including sick leave and other last-minute changes.

  • Communicate with employees regarding their shifts, availability and roster changes.

  • Respond to day-to-day rostering queries and resolve workforce-related issues.

  • Work closely with management to ensure appropriate staffing coverage and minimise disruptions to operations.

Employee Relations & HR Support

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of employee grievances and workplace concerns.

  • Support performance management processes when issues arise.

  • Occasionally participate in recruitment and interviews for new nursing staff alongside management.

  • Work alongside our HR Advisor to support HR processes and employee management.

What we're looking for

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Previous experience in healthcare rostering or workforce coordination.

  • Experience working with nurses or other healthcare professionals.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • The ability to remain calm, practical and solutions-focused when dealing with last-minute staffing changes.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Confidence dealing with employees and managing day-to-day workplace issues.

  • An interest in developing your skills and experience in HR and employee relations.

Highly regarded:

  • Experience working with the Nurses Award or Health Professionals and Support Services Award.

  • A Certificate IV in Human Resources, Business or a related qualification.

We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have a background in healthcare rostering and are looking to broaden their experience into HR.

Employment details
  • Employment type: Part-time, 1-year contract.

  • Working days: Monday to Friday.
