Job summary

EC Throsby is seeking a hands-on Safety & WHS professional to join our site-based team in NSW. Reporting to the Group Manager - Safety, you will drive compliance with WHS legislation, deliver training, and support risk management and incident investigations across operations.

You’ll conduct audits, site inspections and risk assessments, close corrective actions, and influence safe behaviours through practical coaching. Food manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have WHS knowledge and practical site experience.
• Experience conducting audits, inspections and investigations.
• Ability to train and coach across levels in the business.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in ensuring workplace safety, compliance, and continuous improvement by:

• Driving compliance with WHS legislation and internal systems (SHEQMS)
• Supporting and advising leaders on risk management, incident response, and corrective actions
• Conducting audits, inspections, and daily site monitoring
• Leading and contributing to risk assessments and safety initiatives
• Delivering WHS training across all levels of the business
• Supporting contractor and visitor compliance requirements
• Assisting with incident investigations (ICAM or similar)
• Monitoring, reporting, and closing out corrective actions

This is a highly visible, site-based role where you'll build strong relationships and influence safe behaviours at all levels.

About You

You're a practical, solutions-focused safety professional who enjoys being on the ground and working closely with teams.

You'll bring:

• Cert IV in Work Health & Safety (minimum)
• Proven experience in a WHS-focused role (ideally 2+ years)
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and risk management practices
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, and investigations
• Confidence influencing and coaching stakeholders
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, hands-on approach to safety

Highly regarded:

• Experience in food, meat processing, or manufacturing
• ICAM investigation training
• Quality auditing qualifications
• Contractor management experience
