OLSH College is seeking a proactive Work Health and Safety Coordinator to design, plan and administer WHS and RTW activities across the College. This permanent part-time role (22 hours per week, 41 weeks per year) offers a busy workload for a safety professional who can build strong relationships and promote a safety culture within a school environment.

Key responsibilities include policy implementation, risk assessments, training coordination, and contractor compliance.

Formación

• Diploma qualification in WHS or related field.
• Return to Work Coordinator certificate or willingness to obtain and maintain currency.
• Highly developed administration skills and a customer-centric mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Implement and continuously improve WHS policies, procedures and initiatives across the College.
• Provide advice and practical guidance on WHS and RTW matters.
• Investigate injuries, incidents, hazards, risks and near misses with corrective actions.
• Conduct and review risk assessments and implement control measures.
• Undertake workplace inspections and audits for compliance and improvements.
• Provide WHS inductions for staff, contractors, volunteers and visitors.
• Support coordination and monitoring of mandatory WHS training and record-keeping.
• Assist with RTW processes and injury management practices.
• Support contractor compliance including licences, insurances and clearances.
• Participate in WHS Committee administration and follow-up actions.

The Opportunity

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH) is seeking a proactive, knowledgeable and highly organised Work Health and Safety Coordinator to join our College. This role will be responsible for planning, designing and administration relating to WHS and Return to Work (RTW) activities, ensuring a safe, compliant and supportive environment for students, staff, contractors and visitors across the College.

This permanent part time (22 hours per week and 41 weeks per year) position offers a busy and varied workload for an experienced safety professional who enjoys building positive relationships, promoting safety culture and supporting compliance across a school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and continuous improvement of WHS policies, procedures and initiatives across the College
• Provide advice, recommendations and practical guidance on WHS and RTW matters, in conjunction with Catholic Safety & Injury Management (CSaIM)
• Investigate injuries, incidents, hazards, risks and near misses, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventative actions are implemented
• Conduct and review risk assessments and implement effective control measures
• Undertake workplace inspections and audits to monitor compliance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Provide WHS inductions for staff, contractors, volunteers and visitors
• Support the coordination and monitoring of mandatory WHS training requirements, including maintaining accurate records
• Assist with Return to Work processes and promoting early intervention and injury management practices
• Support contractor compliance processes, including monitoring relevant licences, insurances and clearances
• Actively participate and assist with WHS Committee administration, including preparation of documentation, meeting support and follow‑up of actions

About You

• Diploma qualification in WHS (or related field) and/or experience in a similar role
• Return to Work Coordinator certificate or willingness to obtain and maintain currency
• Highly developed administration skills and a customer‑centric mindset
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
