Job description

Our client is a well established Sydney based manufacturer investing in its eCommerce capability. With their WooCommerce platform now central to how they sell and service customers, they are looking for an experienced WooCommerce Specialist to join on an initial 6 month contract, starting immediately.

This is a genuinely hands-on role with a vendor management component. You will own the day to day running and improvement of the WooCommerce store, while also managing the relationship with an external development vendor to make sure work is delivered on time, to scope and to the right standard.

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing, configuring and optimising the WooCommerce store, including products, pricing, catalogues, shipping, payments and checkout
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and fixes across WordPress, WooCommerce, themes and plugins
  • Managing the external vendor: scoping requirements, prioritising the backlog, reviewing deliverables and holding them to agreed timelines and budgets
  • Acting as the internal subject matter expert, translating business needs into clear technical requirements
  • Overseeing integrations with ERP, inventory, payment gateways and other third party systems
  • Driving improvements to site performance, security, UX and conversion
  • Coordinating testing, releases and plugin updates with minimal disruption to trade
  • Reporting on site performance and vendor progress to internal stakeholders
What you’ll bring
  • Strong hands-on WooCommerce and WordPress experience, ideally in a B2B, B2C or manufacturing environment
  • Solid understanding of plugins, hosting, payment gateways and integrations
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and PHP (enough to diagnose issues and challenge a vendor’s approach)
  • Ability to balance hands-on delivery with stakeholder and vendor management
  • Clear, confident communicator who can work with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Available to start immediately or at very short notice
Nice to have
  • Experience with ERP integrations (e.g. MYOB, NetSuite, Dynamics, Pronto)
  • Exposure to SEO, Google Analytics and conversion optimisation
  • Background in manufacturing, wholesale or distribution eCommerce
Why apply
  • Immediate start on a 6 month contract
  • Hybrid working arrangement in Sydney
  • Real ownership of a business critical platform
  • A practical, down to earth business where your work has visible impact
