Job summary

Sass Clothing in Melbourne is seeking a Garment Technician / Production Coordinator for an extended maternity leave contract. You will oversee fit, development samples, and production readiness across a fast-paced women’s wholesale fashion range.

Responsibilities include managing fit comments, specifications, and offshore communications to ensure garments meet quality standards and commercial viability. Strong Excel and Illustrator skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as Garment Technician in women's fashion, wholesale environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, grading and fitting.
• Experience working with offshore manufacturers/suppliers.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to assess garment fit and provide actionable technical feedback.
• Proficiency in Excel and Illustrator for technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct garment fittings and provide clear fit comments to suppliers.
• Review and approve development, fit, pre-production, and shipment samples.
• Create and maintain garment specifications, measurement charts, and technical docs.
• Ensure construction, workmanship, and quality meet company standards.
• Communicate with offshore factories regarding fit and technical requirements.
• Manage sample approval to meet critical path deadlines.
• Identify and resolve potential production and quality issues before bulk.
