Job summary

Bondi Born Pty in Sydney is seeking a highly skilled Garment Technician to join our team. The role requires deep fabric knowledge, precise technical ability, and a proactive approach to maintaining quality across swimwear and ready-to-wear collections.

You will manage fittings, coordinate with factories in Asia, and produce technical packs and notes that drive production timelines. A minimum of five years in a similar role in a premium fashion environment is essential, with StyleCAD expertise

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as Garment Technician or Patternmaker in high-end fashion.

Responsibilities

• Update the Product Development Tracking Sheet daily.
• Book and prepare fitting sessions for ready-to-wear and swimwear collections.
• Organise steam and inspect samples before fittings.
• Attend fittings with the designer and record detailed notes.
• Translate fitting notes into technical amendments for overseas factories.
• Prepare workmanship, spec, and BOM sheets for each style.
• Finalise bulk tech packs for production within timelines.
• Coordinate with sample machinists and factories to resolve construction issues.
• Provide timely technical feedback and escalate urgent issues to keep sampling and production moving.
• Conduct sample cutting and making processes.

Job description

BONDIBORN® is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Garment Technician to join our Sydney team. The ideal candidate will bring technical precision, deep fabric knowledge, and a passion for quality that reflects BONDI BORN's commitment to excellence.

Key responsibilities

Update the Product Development Tracking Sheet on a daily basis.

Book and prepare fitting sessions for both ready-to-wear and swimwear collections.

Organise steam and inspect all samples before each fitting.

Attend fittings with the designer and record detailed fitting notes.

Translate fitting notes into clear technical amendments for overseas factories.

Prepare and complete workmanship, spec, and BOM sheets for each style.

Finalise bulk tech packs for production within critical timelines.

Communicate directly with sample machinists (in-house and freelance) to resolve garment construction issues.

Proactively coordinate communication with factories in China, Vietnam and other overseas locations, planning around time-zone differences and public holiday schedules to minimise avoidable delays.

Take ownership of providing timely technical feedback, following up outstanding queries and escalating urgent issues to keep sampling and production moving.

Conduct sample cutting and making processes.

About you

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Garment Technician or Patternmaker in a high-end fashion business (essential).

Advanced skill in StyleCAD for patternmaking and grading (strong advantage).

Excellent knowledge of silk, cotton, linen, and viscose fabrications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, and Google Meet.

Strong time and stress management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks across different collection seasons.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards under pressure.

Confident communicator with a collaborative attitude and a proactive approach.
