Job summary

XPT Software seeks a Wintel Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement and retire Windows-based and hybrid infrastructure. The role focuses on security across the Australian Government, with expertise in enterprise systems, scripting and automation to support secure IT operations within a government context.

The candidate will develop security SOPs and participate in remediation workshops, evaluating security configurations and tooling to reduce cyber risk as part of a formal security program.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical cyber security experience.
• Experience focusing on security for enterprise systems.
• Experience implementing one or more Essential Eight Mitigation Strategies.

Job Details

Infrastructure Engineers implement, manage and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Implement security controls to uplift security posture across the Australian Government.
• Develop SOPs or security and administrative tasks.
• Facilitate and participate in workshops for design and remediation activities.
• Prototype security configurations for the development of advice

Essential criteria

1. At least 5 years technical Cyber Security experience.
2. Demonstrated experience working with security focus on enterprise systems.
3. Experience implementing one or more of the Essential Eight Mitigation Strategies.
4. Demonstrated experience with scripting or application development to automate system administration or vulnerability assessment tasks, or to implement tools to assist with assessing or remediating cyber risks.

Desirable criteria

1. Demonstrated experience working with cloud systems, such as Azure or AWS.
2. Demonstrated experience evaluating and implementing remediation activities correlating to the detection and mitigation of Active Directory compromises.
