Profectus is seeking multiple experienced Wintel Engineers to support security uplift work for an Australian Government agency. You will implement and test security controls across Windows Server, Active Directory and enterprise infrastructure.

Role requires at least 5 years in cyber security, strong Windows Server/AD administration, and experience applying Essential Eight mitigations. You will script to automate tasks, build tooling for risk assessment, and contribute to SOPs and workshop

Profectus is seeking multiple experienced Wintel Engineers to support security uplift work within an Australian Government agency. You will implement and test security controls across Windows Server, Active Directory and enterprise infrastructure. The work covers security hardening, scripting and automation, remediation design and the development of standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement security controls to uplift the security posture of Windows enterprise systems
• Harden Windows Server and Active Directory configurations
• Implement Essential Eight mitigation strategies across enterprise systems
• Prototype and test security configurations to inform technical advice
• Write scripts to automate system administration and vulnerability assessment tasks
• Assess and remediate cyber risks across physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure
• Investigate and remediate Active Directory compromises
• Facilitate and participate in workshops for design and remediation activities
• Develop standard operating procedures for security and administrative tasks
• Document configurations, changes and remediation outcomes

Required Experience

• At least 5 years of technical cyber security experience
• Strong Windows Server and Active Directory administration experience
• Experience securing enterprise systems
• Experience implementing one or more of the Essential Eight mitigation strategies
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python or similar) to automate administration or vulnerability assessment tasks
• Experience building tools to assess or remediate cyber risks
• Experience running technical workshops and writing SOPs
• Experience delivering ICT work for Defence or other Australian Government agencies

Desirable Experience

• Experience with cloud systems such as Azure or AWS
• Experience detecting, mitigating and remediating Active Directory compromises
• Familiarity with the Information Security Manual (ISM)
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft security certifications, CISSP or OSCP
• Previous work in Defence or national security programs

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must be an Australian Citizen
• Must have a current AGSVA NV2 Security Clearance
• TSPV preferred
