Job summary

New Tricks is a boutique family producer in the Granite Belt. We are seeking a hands-on Cellar Hand to join our winery team in Ballandean, QLD. Some wine-industry experience is highly desired, and training will be provided.

The role includes night/weekend work as needed and adherence to safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include handling fruit, operating pumps and processing equipment, assisting with fermentations, laboratory tasks, and vineyard support.

Qualifications

• Experience in winery operations, particularly in using pumps and other winemaking equipment is desired.
• Low level laboratory work or some scientific training would be beneficial.
• A forklift licence would be beneficial.
• A driver’s license and permission to work in Australia is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Receiving fruit and coordinating storage logistics.
• Operating winery equipment including crusher/de-stemmer, press and cleaning/sterilising gear.
• Operating pumps for wine and juice transfers, racking and barrel filling/emptying.
• Participating in juice inoculation and other tank additions.
• Monitoring fermentations and assisting with pump overs/plunging.
• Cleaning winery and cleaning/sterilising equipment/tanks.
• Assisting with laboratory operations including chemical analysis, preparation of standard solutions and data recording.
• Undertaking support work in the vineyard as required.
