Job summary

Projexperts Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer on a client-side role for a major wind-farm project in Queensland. You will represent the client across electrical construction, testing, commissioning and handover, coordinating with EPC contractors, OEMs and the client team on safety, programme and contractual requirements.

The role focuses on HV infrastructure, substations, wind-farm balance-of-plant systems and energisation, with a FIFO 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience as Electrical Project Engineer or similar on major infrastructure/renewable projects.
• Strong site-based construction experience.
• Demonstrated testing and commissioning experience.
• Experience with HV and MV electrical systems.
• Understanding of substations, transformers, protection and control, cabling, earthing and auxiliary electrical systems.
• Experience working with EPC contractors and major subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of construction quality processes, ITPs, NCRs and technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, schematics, specifications and commissioning documentation.
• Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a FIFO/site environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Client's site representative for electrical construction and commissioning activities.
• Monitor the EPC contractor and subcontractors' performance against the approved design, specifications, programme and contract requirements.
• Provide technical oversight of electrical installation works across the wind farm.
• Review construction methodologies, work packs, ITPs, inspection records and commissioning documentation.
• Identify technical, programme, quality and interface risks and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
• Monitor construction progress and provide regular reporting to the Project Manager and wider client team.
• Support resolution of electrical design, constructability and site interface issues.
