Job summary

Southport Printing Co. on the Gold Coast, QLD seeks a full-time Wide Format / Signage Operator to join the team and lead installation duties under the Wide Format Manager.

You will install adhesive vinyl, panel vinyl, and rigid sheets, and perform offsite installations while occasionally driving the installation van. Ideal candidates have experience with wide format printing, signage, flatbed and offsite installs, a current Australian driver’s licence, and a proactive, team-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience in wide format printing including signage, flatbed and offsite installations.
• Current Australian Drivers Licence and own vehicle.
• Positive, team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Installing adhesive vinyl
• Installing flat panel vinyl and rigid sheets to multiple surfaces
• Performing offsite installations
• Driving the installation van to installations
• Operating roll machines, flatbed printers and flatbed cutters
• Applying jobs to substrates
• Collaborating with the production team to ensure projects are completed on time
• Cross-training on multiple pieces of equipment and supporting team members
• Ensuring quality control and attention to detail in all work

In this role, you will work directly under the Wide Format Manager to complete various print and finishing tasks, as well as your primary duties being installation.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Installing adhesive vinyl

Installing flat panel vinyl and rigid sheets to multiple surfaces

Performing offsite installations

At times, driving the Southport Printing Co. installation van to and from installations

Operating roll machines, flatbed printers and flatbed cutters

Applying jobs to substrates

Collaborating with the production team to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard

Cross-training on multiple pieces of equipment and supporting team members as needed

Ensuring quality control and attention to detail in all work

It is preferred you have experience in wide format printing including signage, flatbed and offsite installations. We’re looking for someone who has worked with similar equipment and enjoys a fast-paced environment. The right candidate will be keen, willing, and able to take on new challenges and adapt to a variety of tasks.
