Job description

ASC is Australia's submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy's Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats' service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation's nuclear-powered submarines - the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia's history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia's national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

Join ASC as a WHSE Officer and help drive a safe, compliant and high-performing workplace. In this pivotal role, you'll support WHSE reporting, systems, governance and compliance activities while partnering with internal and external stakeholders across the business. You'll play a key role in strengthening safety performance and delivering continuous improvement outcomes.

This is a full-time opportunity based across our sites at Osborne, Port Adelaide, and Adelaide City.

What you’ll be doing
  • Coordinate WHSE reporting, data management and performance metrics.
  • Maintain WHSE systems, records and documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Provide administration support across audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigation activities.
  • Develop and distribute WHSE communications, reports and governance documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance WHSE performance and workforce engagement.
About you

You're a proactive WHSE professional who combines strong organisational skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach. You enjoy working collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels and are confident managing information, reporting requirements and compliance activities in a complex operational environment.

You'll have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a WHSE role, supported by a Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline. (Desired but not essential)
  • Demonstrated experience in a WHSE role, ideally within a complex operational or infrastructure environment.
  • Strong understanding of WHS and environmental legislation, standards and compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting workplace inspections, risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
  • Proven ability to analyse WHSE data and prepare reports, metrics and dashboards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and WHSE management systems, supported by excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
