We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s nuclear-powered submarines, representing the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia’s national security. We offer rewarding careers, opportunities to grow, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Governance & Assurance Compliance Coordinator to join ASC's Governance & Assurance team, based out of our Osbourne base in South Australia.

Reporting to the Quality Engineer - Technical Support Network (QE-TSN), you will play an important role in supporting governance, assurance, risk management and compliance activities across the organisation.

Working within a complex and highly regulated environment, you will help maintain governance frameworks, monitor compliance obligations, coordinate investigations, support risk management activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders across the business to ensure governance processes remain effective, compliant and aligned with organisational objectives.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to work that directly supports Australia's sovereign submarine capability while developing your career within one of the nation's most significant defence organisations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of governance frameworks, policies and procedures across ASC.
  • Assist in identifying, assessing and monitoring organisational risks and maintain associated risk registers.
  • Coordinate governance forums, including meeting preparation, agenda management, minute taking and action tracking.
  • Monitor compliance obligations and maintain compliance registers to support effective regulatory oversight.
  • Support investigations into compliance breaches, incidents and governance matters, including tracking actions and outcomes.
  • Assist in implementing governance and assurance initiatives that strengthen organisational effectiveness.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure risk controls and compliance requirements are understood and maintained.
  • Support communication of regulatory and governance changes and assess organisational impacts.
  • Provide advice and guidance in response to governance and compliance enquiries.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities that enhance governance, compliance and assurance outcomes.
About You

You are a highly organised and analytical professional who enjoys working with people, processes and systems to improve organisational performance.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Experience in governance, compliance, risk management, quality, assurance or a related discipline within a complex environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present factual and objective information to a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks, risk management principles and compliance processes.
  • Experience supporting investigations, audits or assurance activities will be highly regarded.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships and influence positive outcomes across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on achieving sustainable outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant qualification in Business, Governance, Risk Management, Engineering, Quality, Safety or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in governance, risk management, compliance or assurance activities within a complex operational or engineering environment.
  • Experience within submarine, maritime, defence or other highly regulated industries will be highly regarded.
  • ICAM Investigator training or similar investigation qualifications are desirable.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to collate, analyse and present information in a clear and professional manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience managing documentation, registers and records within controlled environments.
  • Exposure to SharePoint and Power BI would be advantageous.
