Job summary

Richard Crookes Constructions in Wollongong NSW is seeking a WHSE Advisor to safeguard site safety and maintain compliance across major projects. You will partner with project teams, WHSE managers and leaders to uphold high safety standards on site.

The role focuses on implementing RCC’s WHSE systems, conducting inspections, leading risk assessments and incident investigations while fostering a proactive safety culture across projects.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in WHS or a related discipline.
• Experience in construction/engineering or safety-related roles.
• ICAM or similar incident investigation training.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• Proactive and collaborative approach to safety.
• Eagerness to learn and build a long-term WHSE career.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, compliant, high-performing work environment across RCC sites.
• Support RCC WHSE systems, standards, and project-specific requirements.
• Assist with workforce onboarding and inductions.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Support risk assessments, SWMS reviews and hazard management.
• Assist with incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
• Encourage proactive hazard reporting and a positive safety culture.

The Role:

Working closely with project teams, WHSE Advisors, WHSE Managers and operational leaders, you'll play an important role in maintaining a safe, compliant and high-performing work environment across our sites.

• Supporting the implementation of RCC's WHSE systems, standards and project-specific compliance requirements.
• Assisting with workforce onboarding and inductions.
• Conducting site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Supporting risk assessments, SWMS reviews and hazard management activities.

• Working closely with site leadership to ensure safe work practices are maintained at all times.

What We're Looking For:

• Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a construction, engineering or safety-related role.
• ICAM or similar incident investigation training
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to safety.
• Eagerness to learn, develop and build a long-term career in WHSE.
