Job summary

Amazon Australia is hiring a full-time WHS Specialist to serve as the designated safety professional for AMZL sites, coordinating and implementing the Amazon Global Safety Program. The role emphasizes a positive safety culture, compliance with safety standards, and coaching associates on safe work habits.

You will train associates and leaders, monitor metrics, lead risk assessments and data analysis, and support the WHS Management System development across Australia.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of workplace health & safety (WHS) related field experience
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910
• High school or equivalent
• Experience using Microsoft Word in a professional capacity
• Experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace

Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of WHS objectives at the Site
• Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety policies and global standards
• Frequent site audits and inspections to identify and rectify non-compliance issues
• Leading and mentoring the on-site safety team
• Facilitate incident investigations and maintain required documentation
• Conduct safety observations and audits, provide targeted training, and participate in process improvement activities
