Job summary

SRA Solutions is seeking a WHS Officer to oversee day-to-day Health & Safety across the site, reporting to the Safety and Compliance Manager. You will respond to incidents, enforce rules, and drive proactive risk reduction in a manufacturing/engineering environment.

Key duties include injury management, safety walks, toolbox talks, incident investigations with root cause analysis, inductions and training, evacuation drills and PPE enforcement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years proven experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety is essential.
• RCA / incident investigation training is desirable.
• Fire Warden is desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to operate with all levels of business.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate injury management and rehabilitation through return-to-work processes.
• Conduct regular safety walks, workplace inspections, toolbox talks and risk reviews.
• Facilitate Health & Safety Committee meetings.
• Ensure consistent reporting of hazards, incidents and near misses.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Coordinate WHS inductions and training.
• Lead evacuation drills, first aid and emergency preparedness.
• Maintain safety noticeboards and enforce PPE use.
• Coordinate pre-employment WHS requirements including testing and assessments.

Job description

The WHS Officer is responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of Health & Safety across SRA Solutions, supporting the Safety and Compliance Manager and ensuring WHS matters are actively managed, followed up and resolved. Health & Safety is the priority of this role and requires the ability to respond immediately to safety incidents, injuries and emerging risks. They need to be able to confidently enforce safety rules effectively without creating unnecessary workplace friction.

Key responsibilities

Coordinate injury management and rehabilitation through the return-to-work process (worker compensation claims) including arranging suitable duties.

Conduct regular safety walks, workplace inspections, toolbox talks and risk reviews.

Facilitate safety consultation through Health & Safety Committee meetings.

Ensure consistent reporting of hazards, incidents and near misses.

Lead and facilitate incident investigations, conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA), as well as ensuring immediate and preventative corrective actions are implemented.

Coordinate WHS inductions and training.

Lead evacuation drills, first aid and emergency preparedness.

Maintain safety noticeboards.

Enforce correct PPE use.

Coordinate pre-employment WHS requirements including physical testing and assessments.

About you

3+ years proven experience working within manufacturing or engineering environments.

Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety - essential.

RCA / incident investigation training - desirable.

Fire Warden - desirable.

Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to operate with all levels of business.
