Job summary

Pepe's Ducks Ltd seeks an experienced Work Health and Safety Officer to join its Human Resources team. The role covers farming, manufacturing, warehousing, sales and dispatch, reporting to the Human Resources Manager.

It is a permanent, full-time position requiring a Diploma or higher in WHS and strong incident, risk, and compliance capabilities. Due to bio-security regulations, staff must not have exposure to pigs or poultry outside of the work environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or related discipline.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and standards.
• Experience in safety reporting including audits, investigations, inspections, and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date WHS documents, registers, and records.
• Incident and risk management across operations.
• Support and implement WHS policies.
• Support Workers Compensation and Return to Work programs.
• Contractor and visitor management from induction to compliance.
• Employee engagement and coordination with HSRs.
• Site visits and compliance.
• Promote a safe workplace culture.

To be successful in this role you will need:

• Employee engagement at all levels from worker to executive. Support and co-ordinate HSR's
• Site visits and compliance
• Promote a safe workplace culture.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and preparation of recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
• Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning, adaptability, and improvement.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to influence without formal authority.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of associated WHS legislation, regulations and standards.
• Knowledge of Workers Compensation Legislation and relevant SIRA training
• Experience in the provision of safety reporting including audits, investigations, inspections and the effective close out of corrective actions.
• Preferred - Diplomaor higherof Work Health and Safety or related discipline.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical screening and police check.

This position is Permanent Full Time Role.
