Job summary

Torrens University Australia is seeking a Work Health and Safety Manager to lead WHS planning, implementation and continuous improvement across Torrens Global Education and related entities. You will consult with staff, promote safe working practices and ensure legislative compliance.

The role requires WHS qualifications and extensive experience, with responsibilities including injuries management, training delivery, and risk mitigation in a complex organisation.

Qualifications

• WHS professional with qualifications in work health and safety and/or at least six years’ experience.
• Holder of a Return to Work Coordinator certificate for South Australia.
• Experience applying WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice in a complex organisation.
• Experience managing work-related injuries and workers compensation end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation and continuous improvement of WHS across Torrens Global Education and related entities.
• Partner with business units and leaders to identify and manage physical and psychological risks.
• Manage injuries and workers compensation claims and WHS project delivery across the organisation.
• Develop and deliver WHS training for key stakeholders.
• Investigate accidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
