Job summary

Far West Local Health District in Broken Hill, NSW, is seeking a WHS and Wellbeing Coordinator for temporary full-time maternity leave cover. The role focuses on leading Work Health and Safety concerns and embedding wellbeing initiatives across the workforce, with duties including committees and policy compliance.

You will drive the Employee Wellbeing Plan, aiming to foster a supportive culture and a safe, healthy work environment for staff in regional NSW.

Responsibilities

• Manage Work Health and Safety (WHS) concerns and ensure facilities comply with statutes and guidelines.
• Develop, implement, and oversee the Employee Wellbeing Plan to improve physical and psychological health of staff.
• Attend WHS Committees and other relevant meetings as required.

What You'll Be Doing

The WHS and Wellbeing Coordinator serves as the central figure in managing Work Health and safety (WHS) concerns, ensuring our facilities comply with all relevant statutes and strategically embedding sustainable practices for WHS, particularly in managing psychosocial risks as per state and federal guidelines.

The role is pivotal in crafting, executing, and overseeing the FWLHD Employee Wellbeing Plan, a strategic approach filled with proactive, evidence‑based initiatives aimed at enhancing the physical and psychological health of our employees, thereby fostering an overall culture of wellbeing within the organisation.

Attend and contribute Work Health & Safety Committees and other relevant meetings as required.
