Job summary

Murphy Group is seeking a skilled WHS Advisor to work with site managers and the commercial construction team to uphold the highest safety standards across projects in Queensland. The role focuses on providing expert WHS advice, implementing the IMS, and fostering a strong safety culture on diverse sites.

Key duties include risk assessments, safety audits, staff training, and supporting ISO45001 & OFSC compliance while maintaining strong field presence and collaboration with quality teams.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in WHS and strong knowledge of Queensland codes and regs.
• Experience in commercial construction with carpentry expertise.
• Experience maintaining ISO45001 and OFSC accreditation.
• Proven incident and risk management experience.
• Ability to conduct safety audits and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Provide WHS advice on COPs and legislation.
• Support risk assessment development across project stages (SWMS, JSA).
• Promote a No Harm Culture and a Lost Time Injury-free workplace.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure WHS compliance.
• Review safety performance across projects.
• Maintain an 80% field presence and 20% office time across projects.
• Advise on WHS management systems compliance.
• Collaborate with Quality/Document Control on WHS matters.
• Assist with WHS training and induction programs.
• Participate in WHS audits (ISO45001 & OFSC).
• Mentor and support staff to achieve HSE KPIs.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
