Job summary

Sulzer Perth Service Centre is seeking a Production Worker / Technician to assemble, test, and inspect wheel motor components for electric mining haul trucks, following production protocols and quality standards. You will disassemble and repair large mechanical assemblies, document job reports, and order parts while maintaining a safe, clean work environment in line with QESH.

A Trade Certificate III in mechanical fitting or diesel mechanic and experience with large equipment are preferred;

Qualifications

• Trade certificate or equivalent in mechanical fitting or related trade.
• Experience fitting large equipment such as wheel units and gearboxes.
• Strong focus on safety and time management.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Forklift license and dogging ticket are a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul and maintain electric mining haul truck wheel motors and associated equipment.
• Disassemble, inspect, and repair large mechanical assemblies with precision.
• Complete job reports and requisition parts to keep projects on track.
• Replace or repair worn components such as shafts, gears, seals, and bearing fits.
• Clean and prepare mechanical equipment using specialized methods and tools.
• Adhere to QESH standards and promote a safe, clean work environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
