Job summary

Gateway Health in Northeast Victoria is seeking a Wellness Practitioner to deliver comprehensive mental health assessments, develop tailored treatment plans and provide evidence-based short interventions across Wodonga and surrounding communities.

You will coordinate care for clients with complex needs, connect them with the right services, and work with families, carers and community partners to support meaningful and lasting wellbeing outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the Mental Health sector with individuals in distress or complex needs.
• Experience delivering evidence-based approaches and brief interventions.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop tailored treatment plans.
• Deliver evidence-based brief interventions, single-session therapy, counselling and group programs.
• Coordinate care for people with complex needs and connect clients to appropriate services.
• Collaborate with families, carers and community partners to support recovery and wellbeing.

About the role

Are you an experienced mental health professional who is passionate about helping people move from distress towards recovery? Join Gateway Health’s Head to Health team and make a genuine difference by delivering responsive, person-centred support across Wodonga and surrounding communities.

As a Wellness Practitioner, you will work within a collaborative, recovery-oriented team to provide comprehensive mental health assessments, develop tailored treatment plans and deliver evidence-based brief interventions, single-session therapy, counselling and group programs. You will also coordinate care for people with complex needs, connect clients with the right services and work alongside families, carers and community partners to support meaningful and lasting wellbeing outcomes.

This role is based in Wodonga, with occasional travel to other sites, and is classified at SACS Level 5 under the Community Health Centre Stand Alone Services Social and Community Service Employees Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022.

Skills & Experience

To thrive in this role, you'll bring:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Health, Social Work, Welfare, Community Services, Counselling or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Mental Health sector, working with individuals experiencing psychological distress or complex needs.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering a variety of evidence-based approaches.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Well-developed communication skills.
