Job summary

BlueCare Caloundra Aged Care Facility is seeking a Wellness Partner to deliver inclusive, person-centred wellness activities for residents, under the Wellness Lead. The role focuses on residents’ physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing, promoting independence, choice and dignity.

You will facilitate group and 1:1 activities, work with care staff and volunteers, complete lifestyle assessments and maintain safe spaces, while following policies and contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience delivering group and 1:1 activity in aged care or community settings.
  • Practical experience in creative, social, cognitive and physical activity facilitation.
  • Understanding of dementia care, person-centred practice and cultural safety.
  • Knowledge of infection control, manual handling practices and Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Exposure to person-centred care principles and needs of older adults.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary team environments.
  • Ability to build positive, respectful relationships with residents and families.
  • Ability to design and adapt lifestyle and wellness activities for residents with cognitive or physical limitations.
  • Understanding of dignity, cultural safety and individual choice in care delivery.
  • Satisfy probity checks required by legislation or policy.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate inclusive group and 1:1 wellness activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing.
  • Build respectful relationships with residents, encouraging independence, dignity, choice and participation through meaningful engagement and support.
  • Collaborate with care staff, clinical teams, families, volunteers, the Wellness Lead and Home Services Lead to ensure programs align with resident needs.
  • Guide, support and engage Volunteers so they feel confident, informed and able to contribute effectively to resident wellbeing.
  • Seek resident and family input to improve programs and embed HELF Services into everyday home operations.
  • Complete lifestyle assessments (with supervision), maintain accurate records, and observe and report changes in resident wellbeing.
  • Prepare, organise and maintain activity spaces, materials and equipment to ensure safe, welcoming environments.
  • Follow organisational policies and contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback and observations.

  • Employment Term:Permanent Part Time (60 hours per fortnight) - must be available to work on weekends where required
  • Remuneration:$39.21 p/hr+ Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging + Penalties & Allowances

Under the leadership of the Wellness Lead, the Wellness Partner delivers engaging, inclusive and person‑centred wellness activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing. The role works directly with residents to understand their individual interests, cultural backgrounds and abilities, enabling meaningful participation that promotes independence, choice, dignity and quality of life in alignment with organisational expectations and the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

In this role, you will:

Facilitate inclusive group and 1:1 wellness activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing:

  • Build respectful relationships with residents, encouraging independence, dignity, choice and participation through meaningful engagement, companionship and emotional support
  • Collaborate with care staff, clinical teams, families, volunteers, the Wellness Lead and Home Services Lead to ensure programs align with resident needs
  • Guide, support and engage Volunteers so they feel confident, informed and able to contribute effectively to resident wellbeing
  • Seek resident and family input to improve programs, contribute ideas in meetings, and help embed HELF Services into everyday home operations
  • Complete lifestyle assessments (with supervision), maintain accurate records, and observe and report changes in resident wellbeing in line with escalation processes
  • Prepare, organise and maintain activity spaces, materials and equipment to ensure safe, welcoming and hazard‑free environments
  • Follow organisational policies (manual handling, WHS, IPC, emergency procedures) and contribute to continuous improvement by sharing feedback and observations
What makes a difference for us?

  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, allied health professionals, care staff and volunteers
  • Strong ability to build positive, respectful and trusting relationships with residents and their families
  • Ability to design and adapt lifestyle and wellness activities for residents with cognitive or physical limitations
  • Understanding of dignity, cultural safety and individual choice in care delivery
