Job summary

IRT Crown Gardens (Batemans Bay) is seeking a Wellbeing Services Employee to plan, implement and oversee activities that enhance the wellbeing and quality of life for elderly residents. This part-time role focuses on engaging programs that meet physical, emotional and social needs, delivering meaningful experiences.

Shifts are on Thursdays and Saturdays from 9am to 3:30pm, with leave coverage across Batemans Bay and Moruya sites to help provide extra hours.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is required.
• Certificate IV in Leisure & Health is preferred.
• Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain is required.
• Demonstrated initiative and creative flair in activity planning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and prioritise work.
• Empathy and passion for supporting older Australians.
• Knowledge of dementia is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and oversee wellbeing programs and activities for residents.
• Create engaging onsite activities (bingo, crafts, outings) and plan social/cultural events.
• Assist residents on bus trips and community outings.
• Support resident participation and provide warm companionship.
• Respect residents' needs, values, spiritual and cultural preferences.

About the Role

As an Aged Care Employee working within our Wellbeing Services team, you'll be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing programs and activities designed to enhance the well-being and quality of life of elderly residents. This role involves creating engaging and meaningful activities that cater to the diverse interests and needs of the residents while ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Your warm-hearted care will provide experiences that enhance our residents' wellbeing and overall quality of life and truly make a positive impact on their lives. It really is an incredibly rewarding role and a lot of fun!

We are seeking a Part Time employee to work at our IRT Crown Gardens (Batemans Bay) Residential Care Home in the following capacity:

Thursday and Saturday day shifts from 9am to 3:30pm with leave coverage availability for both Batemans Bay and Moruya sites to make up extra hours.

Your work may include:

• Helping facilitate a range of engaging onsite activities such as bingo, floor bowls, craft and special events
• Helping to develop and plan a range of social, recreational and cultural activities
• Assisting residents on bus trips and community outings
• Supporting resident participation and offering warm companionship
• Ensuring residents' needs, values and spiritual values and cultural preferences are taken into account

To Be Successful You Will Have

• Certificate III in Aged Care or recognised equivalent and competencies have been verified and approved by the delegated officer
• Certificate IV in Leisure & Health
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
• Initiative and creative flair
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work as part of a team and prioritise work
• The ability to put a smile on a residents face and brighten their day
• A big heart - you're empathetic and have a passion for supporting older Australians to live their best life possible
• Knowledge of the needs of persons living with dementia (desirable)
