Job summary

University of Western Australia is seeking an Injury Prevention and Wellbeing Advisor to help shape a safe and healthy workplace. You will apply allied health expertise to improve employee wellbeing, injury recovery and sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

The role is full-time (1.0 FTE) on a fixed-term 12-month basis. Base salary sits at $108,413 – $120,287 p.a. pro-rata plus 17% superannuation.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied health discipline, such as Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy or Psychology, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing employee wellbeing programs within large or complex organisations.
  • Relevant experience in workers’ compensation claims management, injury management and return-to-work practices.
  • Strong communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to provide practical advice and negotiate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and collaborate effectively within a team, supported by proficiency across standard workplace digital and information-management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver and evaluate employee health and wellbeing initiatives that address physical and psychological health priorities, including psychosocial hazards, while promoting resources that support a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Lead proactive injury prevention activities through ergonomic and manual task assessments, musculoskeletal incident investigations, risk assessments, injury data analysis, job task analysis, health monitoring and targeted education and training.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation and non-compensable injury cases, developing injury management and return-to-work plans in partnership with employees, leaders, treating practitioners and insurers to support safe and sustainable recovery at work.
