Job summary

Bupa is hiring a Wellbeing Carer for its Kempsey Care Home. You will engage residents with activities, support daily living, and help foster a sense of belonging through social events and meaningful interactions.

Applicants should demonstrate empathy, flexibility, and creativity, with a good communication style and a collaborative mindset. A First Aid certificate and driver’s licence are advantageous and training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in caring for elders within an Aged Care or community setting is essential.
• First Aid Certificate (or willing to get one)
• Australian driver’s licence preferable

Responsibilities

• Be the fun facilitator: help residents explore interests with activities, clubs, day trips, and events.
• Social butterfly: connect residents during games and conversations to foster belonging.
• Assist with daily living: meals, outings, and supporting residents with cognitive or mental health needs.
• Gather feedback: use surveys and family conferences to ensure activities hit the mark.
• Collaborate with Lifestyle Coordinator and care team to plan activities and document progress.
• Maintain hygiene and infection control; keep environment tidy.
• Assist with plating and serving meals while adhering to food safety standards.
