Qualifications

• Recognised welding certificate.
• Minimum 3 years with similar welding processes, specifications and standards.
• Ability to pass appropriate weld test.
• Gantry crane competency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards.
• Weld steel components in all positions.
• Maintain correct consumables, feeds, amperages and pre-heat per weld procedures.
• Perform welding techniques including MMAW, FCAW, MIG, SAW.
• Weld structures in sequence to control distortion and shrinkage.
• Remove tack welds and restore weld preparations where required.
• Gantry crane handling and moving steel components as needed.
• Follow quality control systems and techniques.
