The role requires hands-on SAW experience, ability to set up equipment, and welding to AS 1554 and WPS; NDT knowledge is valued. We offer a stable full-time position in a workshop that rewards quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated SAW experience is mandatory and a must-have for this role.
• Experience producing high-quality, multi-pass welds on heavy structural steel.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Experience with NDT methods (UT, MT, VT) and welding to relevant standards.
• Commitment to safety, quality and workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Operate SAW equipment to produce high-quality welds on heavy structural steel components.
• Set up and adjust SAW equipment: parameters, wire feed, travel speed, flux management.
• Weld structural beams, girders, columns and assemblies to AS 1554 and WPS.
• Ensure welds meet NDT requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to major infrastructure fabrication while maintaining safety and quality.
