Job summary

Thompson Longhorn in Goomburra, Queensland, is seeking a practical, hands-on welder/fabricator to join our workshop team. You will weld, fabricate and assemble livestock equipment, following drawings and instructions while maintaining quality and safety standards.

You will receive on-the-job training, work with a collaborative team, and enjoy a long-term, full-time role with a negotiable remuneration based on your skills and experience. Onsite work supports the regional lifestyle near Warwick.

Qualifications

• Some welding, fabrication, workshop, mechanical or similar hands-on experience.
• The ability to measure accurately, follow instructions and take pride in your workmanship.
• Reliability, a safety-first attitude and the ability to work well with others.
• A willingness to learn, take feedback and keep improving.
• A current forklift licence - essential.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing

You'll help manufacture livestock handling equipment and components, working alongside our workshop team to:

• Weld and fabricate steel components, using drawings, jigs and job instructions.
• Measure, cut, fit and assemble parts accurately.
• Produce neat, consistent work and prepare completed components for the next stage of production.
• Keep your workspace safe and organised, working with the team to meet quality standards and production targets.

We'll help you get familiar with our products and processes. You'll bring a practical approach and a commitment to doing the job properly.

What you'll bring

Highly regarded, but not essential: MIG welding, production fabrication, experience using jigs, basic drawing-reading skills or a relevant trade qualification.

Experience in agriculture, machinery or other manufacturing environments is also welcome.

A note about the location

This is an onsite workshop role in Goomburra, Queensland, near Warwick. You'll need to be able to reliably travel to our workshop each workday.
