South Central Truck & Bus in South Australia is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal/Fabricator to join our Delivery Department. You will work in a modern workshop fabricating and fitting out trucks before delivery, providing high-quality fabrication and installation of custom accessories.

You will collaborate with fitters, painters and auto electricians, ensuring customer requirements are met on time while prioritising safety and workmanship.

Formación

• Trade qualifications in Metal Fabrication, Welding, Body Building or a related trade.
• Experience with TIG and MIG welding, including aluminum, stainless and mild steel.
• Experience in transport engineering or heavy vehicles desirable.
• Commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Repair, manufacture and modify truck and trailer components, including chassis, suspensions, stainless steel panels and brackets.
• Fabricate and install custom accessories and equipment.
• Assist with vehicle fit outs, including cab accessories, bumper bars, fridges, microwaves, toolboxes and more.
• Ensure all customer-requested accessories are fitted to a high standard and completed on time.
• Work collaboratively with fitters, painters, auto electricians and other workshop team members.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and workmanship.

We are currently seeking an experienced and trade-qualified Sheet Metal/fabricator worker to join our Delivery Department, where you'll play a key role in preparing and customising some of the best trucks on the market.

About the Role

Working in a modern, well-equipped workshop, you will be responsible for producing high-quality fabrication and fit-out work on new trucks prior to delivery. This is a hands-on role offering a great variety of work, where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair, manufacture and modify truck and trailer components, including chassis, suspensions, stainless steel panels and brackets
• Fabricate and install custom accessories and equipment
• Assist with vehicle fit outs, including cab accessories, bumper bars, fridges, microwaves, toolboxes and more
• Ensure all customer-requested accessories are fitted to a high standard and completed on time
• Work collaboratively with fitters, painters, auto electricians and other workshop team members
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality and workmanship

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Trade qualifications in Metal Fabrication, Welding, Body Building or a related trade
• TIG and MIG welding (Aluminum, stainless and mild steel)
• Experience within transport engineering, heavy vehicles or a similar industry
• A commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
