Job summary
MFE is hiring two Welders for its Chinchilla fabrication team on a full-time, permanent basis or casual basis. The role covers fabrication, maintenance, repairs, pipe work, and panels, with a mix of workshop tasks and occasional day-trip repair work.
You will join a supportive crew that values flexibility, initiative and teamwork, and we welcome applicants with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Qualifications
- Trade certificate in welding or boiler making highly regarded but not mandatory
- Construction White Card required or advantageous
- Experience in fabrication, welding, maintenance, repairs, pipe work, workshop or site environments preferred
- Forklift license desirable
Responsibilities
- Perform fabrication, welding, maintenance, and repair work on plant and equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Manufacture, install, repair, and assemble structural components to required quality standards.
- Complete inspections, documentation, and work records accurately.
- Follow all safety procedures, permits, and risk management requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, LEAN/5S practices, and maintain a safe, organised work environment.
- Mentor apprentices when required.

Due to continued growth, we’re looking for two Welders to join our Chinchillafabrication team on a full-time, permanent basis or casual basis. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys varied workshop tasks across fabrication, maintenance, repairs, pipe work and panels.
The role is predominantly workshop-based, with some day-trip repair work as required.
You’ll join a supportive crew that values flexibility, initiative and teamwork. Industry experience is ideal, but we’re also open to a greener applicant with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
- Perform fabrication, welding, maintenance, and repair work on plant and equipment.
