Job summary

MFE, a regional mechanical, fabrication and engineering services provider with operations in Chinchilla and Toowoomba, is seeking two Welders for our Toowoomba fabrication team on a full-time, permanent or casual basis. The role focuses on fabrication, welding, maintenance, and repair of plant and equipment in the workshop, with occasional day-trip repair work.

You will read engineering drawings, install and assemble structural components, complete records, and adhere to safety, risk management

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in welding or related trade is desirable but not mandatory.
• Construction White Card is required.
• Experience in fabrication, welding, maintenance, repairs, pipe work or site environments is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, welding, maintenance, and repair work on plant and equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Manufacture, install, repair, and assemble structural components to required quality standards.
• Complete inspections, documentation, and work records.
• Follow safety procedures, permits, and risk management requirements.
• Contribute to LEAN/5S and maintain a safe, organised work environment.
• Support fault finding, problem solving, and mentoring of apprentices when required.
