Job summary

Baiada Poultry is seeking a Weighbridge Operator for our site in New South Wales. You will oversee weighbridge operations, weigh incoming and outgoing vehicles, and issue dockets while ensuring adherence to Baiada guidelines and HVNL requirements.

Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Excel are essential. You will communicate with drivers, visitors and contractors, and assist with traffic direction and reporting duties as needed.

About the role

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Weighbridge Operator is responsible for managing weighbridge operations including weighing of incoming and outgoing vehicles, general administration and the monitoring of visitors/contractor's access according to Baiada guidelines and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure vehicles entering / exiting the site are compliant with Baiada Chain of Responsibility Management System (CoRMS) to prevent breaches under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL)
• Follow policies and procedures implemented within the organisation to ensure compliance with Quality and Animal Welfare, Workplace Injury Management, Environmental and the Bsafe Workplace Health and Safety systems
• Operate weighbridge and issue dockets which provide readings of vehicle and/or livestock weight (as applicable to the department)
• Manage weighbridge control room including meet and greet, and ensuring site inductions of visitors and contractors (including transport contractors)
• Assist in directing traffic coming into the site and leaving the site
• General administrative duties including compiling spreadsheets/reports, answering/transferring incoming phone calls
• Communicate any non-compliances to relevant Compliance managers

About you

• Availability across 7 days (Monday – Sunday)
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• Strong administration experience, attention to detail, and ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, email, etc.
• Ability to work independently and with others as part of a team
• Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to make quick and correct decisions
