Job summary

Rio Tinto in the Pilbara region is seeking a Weekly Scheduler to help the Shutdown team deliver well-planned maintenance schedules for weekly, major and large-scale shutdowns. Reporting to the Superintendent Plant Shutdown, you will develop optimised schedules that balance safety, cost, quality and resource requirements while supporting reliable asset performance.

Qualifications

• Commitment to safety of yourself and your team.
• Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning or scheduling within mining, utilities, manufacturing or another heavy industrial environment.
• Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) and work management processes.
• Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel and scheduling tools to analyse and manage maintenance work.
• Experience coordinating resources, materials and stakeholders to deliver maintenance or shutdown activities.
• Ability to interpret maintenance strategies, critical paths and schedule dependencies to create executable work plans.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain executable shutdown schedules using work management data, resource availability and asset maintenance strategies.
• Review labour, equipment and material availability to optimise shutdown schedules and minimise execution risk.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, warehouse teams and execution leaders to align resources and critical path activities.
• Monitor schedule loading, utilisation and progress, identifying constraints and implementing schedule improvements.
• Reschedule deferred work and maintain schedule accuracy through robust governance processes.
• Manage schedule loss events, update business systems and communicate impacts to key stakeholders.
• Analyse work management data and identify opportunities to improve shutdown planning and scheduling outcomes.
• Support contractor close-out activities, including invoicing and administration requirements associated with shutdown execution.
