Job summary
VSOS (Veterinary Specialists of Sydney) is seeking experienced Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Nurses for weekend shifts. Join a private, 24/7 emergency hospital in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, delivering advanced care and collaborating with specialists.
Ideal candidates have 2+ years in veterinary nursing, are calm under pressure, and can work regular weekend shifts. This role offers permanent part-time and casual weekend opportunities in a supportive team environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of clinical veterinary nursing experience.
- Experience in emergency and critical care preferred.
- Available for regular weekend shifts (Sat/Sun).
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients.
- Triage and perform initial assessments of emergency presentations.
- Monitor patients and respond to changes in condition promptly.
- Oversee anaesthesia monitoring and assist with advanced procedures.
- Run diagnostics and manage complex clinical treatments.
- Make informed nursing decisions within scope of practice.
- Communicate compassionately with clients during difficult moments.
- Maintain accurate medical records with SmartFlow and ezyVet.
- Work collaboratively with ECC veterinarians, specialists and nurses.
