VSOS (Veterinary Specialists of Sydney) is seeking experienced Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Nurses for weekend shifts. Join a private, 24/7 emergency hospital in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire, delivering advanced care and collaborating with specialists.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in veterinary nursing, are calm under pressure, and can work regular weekend shifts. This role offers permanent part-time and casual weekend opportunities in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of clinical veterinary nursing experience.
• Experience in emergency and critical care preferred.
• Available for regular weekend shifts (Sat/Sun).

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients.
• Triage and perform initial assessments of emergency presentations.
• Monitor patients and respond to changes in condition promptly.
• Oversee anaesthesia monitoring and assist with advanced procedures.
• Run diagnostics and manage complex clinical treatments.
• Make informed nursing decisions within scope of practice.
• Communicate compassionately with clients during difficult moments.
• Maintain accurate medical records with SmartFlow and ezyVet.
• Work collaboratively with ECC veterinarians, specialists and nurses.

About the Role

As part of our weekend Emergency and Critical Care team, you will:

• Deliver exceptional nursing care to emergency and critically ill patients

Essential Requirements

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or an equivalent qualification
• A minimum of two years’ clinical veterinary nursing experience
• Availability to work weekends
• Previous emergency and critical care experience is strongly preferred
