Job summary

Uniting AgeWell in Kingsville is seeking a Weekend Chef to deliver nutritious, high‑quality meals for residents of our aged care facility. The role is permanent part time, 15 hours per week, Saturdays and Sundays 9:00am–5:00pm, with hands-on food preparation and adherence to kitchen standards.

You will hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, have aged care kitchen experience, manage special diets, and apply HACCP principles.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Have experience in a Residential Aged Care kitchen environment (ordering, budgeting and rostering).
  • Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods.
  • Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation.
  • Thrive in a team and also appreciate the one to one interactions.
  • Commitment to the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, order and manage food supplies to support efficient kitchen operations.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards and HACCP requirements.
  • Monitor stock levels, minimise waste and support effective inventory management.
  • Collaborate with hospitality and care teams to enhance the overall resident dining experience.

About the role:

Join our Kingsville aged care team as a Weekend Chef and play a vital role in creating enjoyable dining experiences for our residents. Working Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00am to 5:00pm, you'll prepare nutritious, high-quality meals that support resident wellbeing and enhance daily life. This is a hands-on role where you'll oversee food preparation, maintain kitchen standards, and contribute to a welcoming dining environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals in line with established menus and resident needs
  • Plan, order and manage food supplies to support efficient kitchen operations

This is a Permanent Part Time opportunity working 15 hours per week across Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00am - 5:00pm.

About you:
