Job summary

Uniting AgeWell Kingsville is seeking a Weekend Chef to create enjoyable dining experiences for residents. Working Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00am to 5:00pm, you will oversee food preparation, maintain kitchen standards and contribute to a welcoming dining environment.

This permanent part-time role requires a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, experience in Residential Aged Care kitchens, and ability to work with specialised diets and HACCP-compliant practices.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Experience in Residential Aged Care kitchen environment (ordering, budgeting and rostering).
• Experience with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods.
• Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation.
• Thrive in a team and also appreciate one-to-one interactions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver nutritious, high-quality meals in line with established menus and resident needs.
• Plan, order and manage food supplies to support efficient kitchen operations.
• Cater to specialised dietary requirements, including texture-modified meals and supplements.
• Maintain exceptional standards of food presentation, consistency and service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards and HACCP requirements.
• Monitor stock levels, minimise waste and support effective inventory management.
• Collaborate with hospitality and care teams to enhance the resident dining experience.
