Job summary

Tweed Shire Council invites a Finance Officer to join the Water and Wastewater team on the NSW North Coast. The role supports financial performance, tracks trends and collaborates with operational units to enable informed decisions and stronger cost controls.

You will deliver reporting, financial analysis and routine accounting tasks across operational, capital works and asset management activities. Based in Tweed Heads with a permanent full-time arrangement, the position offers stable hours

Qualifications

• Qualified accounting professional with a TAFE accounting qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interrogate complex financial data and identify trends.
• Experience monitoring income and expenditure, preparing cost reports and supporting financial management outcomes.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience using financial systems such as TechnologyOne Financials and reporting tools such as Crystal Reports.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Water and Wastewater Unit Business Accountant to support financial management of essential community infrastructure.
• Analyse financial data, investigate anomalies and identify opportunities to improve cost control and operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain reports, processes and monitoring tools to provide insights and support informed decision-making.
