Job summary

Enviropacific is seeking a motivated Casual Water Treatment Plant Operator to support operation and maintenance of water treatment plants across Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The role suits hands-on operators who troubleshoot and work across multiple sites, ensuring safe and compliant plant operation.

You will monitor plant performance, conduct sampling, calibrate instruments, perform minor repairs, and work safely with chemicals.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with WTP operations.
• Understanding of pH control, coagulation/settling, filtration, and backwashing.
• Basic plumbing/equipment repair and maintenance.
• Capable of handling chemicals safely.
• Ability to operate a plant control system (HMI and basic setpoints).
• Ability to use Excel for data entry, apps for time sheeting & safety inspections, emails for communication.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and control (i.e. troubleshoot faulty pumps or instruments).
• A flexible approach to working across multiple sites in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
• A current driver's licence and the ability to travel between sites as required.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Casual Water Treatment Plant Operator to support the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants across the Brisbane and Gold Coast regions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator who enjoys hands-on work, troubleshooting and working across a variety of water treatment systems. The role will involve providing operational support across multiple sites, with work requirements varying depending on operational demands, planned maintenance, sampling schedules and staff coverage.

The successful candidate will be flexible, safety-focused and comfortable working independently while maintaining effective communication with the wider operations team.

As a Water Treatment Plant Operator, you will be responsible for the following:

Safe and compliant operation of water treatment plants.

• Monitor and operate the water treatment plant including troubleshooting and optimisation and resolving any technical issues that arise.
• Laboratory sampling, testing, and interpretation of data to manage and optimise treatment processes.
• Calibration of probes and instruments.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will be an experienced, self-starter with the ability to oversee the day-to-day operation of multiple water treatment plants.

To be considered for this position you will need:

• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with WTP operations.
• Understanding of the basics of pH control, coagulation / settling, filtration, and backwashing.
• Basic plumbing/equipment repair and maintenance.
• Capable of handling chemicals safely.
• Ability to operate a plant control system (HMI and basic setpoints).
• Ability to use Excel for data entry, apps for time sheeting & safety inspections, emails for communication.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and control (i.e. troubleshoot faulty pumps or instruments)
