Job summary

Bega Valley Shire Council offers an Emerging Talent Program for a Water and Sewer Trainee to study Certificate III in Water Industry Operations while gaining hands-on experience in water and sewer services. You will work across Water Treatment Operations, Sewerage, Network Maintenance and Infrastructure Construction.

The role includes practical training, on-the-job experience, mentoring, and paid study leave.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated analytical and investigative ability to resolve operational problems in the field.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Undertake vocational studies and apply learning to workplace activities.
• Assist with operation, monitoring and maintenance of water and sewerage infrastructure.
• Assist in construction, installation and repair of water supply and sewerage infrastructure.
• Assist with maintenance, servicing and cleaning of water and sewer treatment plant and equipment.
• Develop fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across water and sewer networks.
