Job summary

Village Roadshow Theme Parks on the Gold Coast invites applications for a Water Quality Technician. The part-time role (experience-based) requires monitoring chemical parameters, testing every two hours, and ensuring clean, safe pools for guests.

You will operate metering and dosing equipment, track inventory, and follow safety protocols, including weekend shifts and a 5am–10pm schedule. Prior water treatment experience is preferred with valid licenses advantageous.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on pool/water quality experience.
• Pool plant operator certificate is advantageous.
• Ability to operate chemical dosing and metering equipment.
• Forklift license is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining safe and sparkling pools by understanding and managing chemical parameters and standards
• Operating, adjusting and maintaining all automated chemical metering and chemical dosing equipment to an operator’s level
• Keeping pool chemical stock levels in check and ensuring hazardous materials and equipment are safely stored and managed
• Performing daily maintenance of filtration systems lint strainers chemical and centrifugal pumps
• Completing all Mobaro checklists and Maximo generated work orders within scheduled time frames ensuring a consistent standard of workload output

Key Responsibilities

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the science of splash! You’ll be:

• Maintaining safe and sparkling pools by understanding and managing chemical parameters and standards
• Operating, adjusting and maintaining all automated chemical metering and chemical dosing equipment to an operator’s level
• Keeping pool chemical stock levels in check and ensuring hazardous materials and equipment are safely stored and managed
• Performing daily maintenance of filtration systems lint strainers chemical and centrifugal pumps

What We’re Looking For

Hands-on. Helpful. Ready to go. You’ll bring:

• Manual driver’s license essential
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Experience with water filtration plants and small pump maintenance would be beneficial
• Pool plant operator certificate, advantageous
• A Forklift license, advantageous
• Basic understanding of UV systems
• Basic understanding of water hydraulics
• Must be available to work between the hours of 5am to 10pm including weekends and rotate shifts when required
