Job summary

Greater Western Water Limited in Victoria is seeking a Field Maintenance Officer, Water, to perform planned and reactive maintenance across the water network. You will work as part of a field-based team, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing assets while handling service disruptions and safety requirements.

The role suits someone who enjoys outdoor work and problem-solving. The successful candidate will participate in pre-employment checks and hold relevant licences and certifications as noted,

Qualifications

• Strong customer focus and communication skills to resolve inquiries effectively, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Respond to water network outages, faults and operational incidents
• Experience in practical, hands‑on work in operational environments within utilities or similar industries.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• A strong commitment to safety and a positive work culture.
• Any Relevant qualifications i.e. Cert III in Network Operations (desirable but not essential)
• Licenses, such as First Aid, Confined Space, or Forklift certification etc (preferred but not essential).
• Manual driver’s licence desirable (HR licence highly regarded)
• Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence (required)

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on water network assets
• Provide excellent field-based experience and customers care during service disruptions.
• Logging and reporting service updates and maintenance actions using our in-house reporting system
• Ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and organisational policies.
• Continuously improving processes and contributing ideas to improve operations.
• Building strong relationships with internal teams and external service providers.
