Job summary

Greater Western Water is seeking a Field Maintenance Officer, Sewer, to perform planned and reactive maintenance across the sewer network. You will work with operational crews to inspect, maintain and repair assets, responding to incidents and supporting wastewater services across the service region.

This hands-on role blends field work, problem-solving and teamwork, contributing directly to critical community services.

Qualifications

• Strong customer focus and communication skills to resolve inquiries effectively, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Experience in practical, hands-on work in operational environments within utilities or similar industries.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
• A strong commitment to safety and a positive work culture.
• Licenses such as First Aid, Confined Space, or Forklift certification are preferred.
• Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on sewer network assets.
• Provide excellent field-based experience and customer care during service disruptions.
• Respond to sewer blockages, spills and operational incidents.
• Logging and reporting service updates and maintenance actions using our in-house reporting system.
• Ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and organisational policies.
• Continuously improving processes and contributing ideas to improve operations.
• Building strong relationships with internal teams and external service providers.
