Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council in Hervey Bay is seeking a Water Industry Team Leader for permanent, full-time work. The role covers leadership of water and sewer network operations, maintenance and construction, with on-site oversight and ensure safe, compliant outcomes for the community.

The successful candidate will guide field crews, respond to emergencies, read plans, and manage documentation using digital systems.

Qualifications

• General Construction Induction (White Card) required.
• Valid MR licence recognised in Queensland.
• Refer to role classification contained with Position Description.
• Demonstrated experience in water industry operations, maintenance and construction.
• Strong on-site leadership and mentoring capability in a field-based environment.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and safe systems of work.
• Ability to read plans, complete documentation and use digital work systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site water and sewer network operations, maintenance and construction works.
• Respond to emergency incidents to meet service and legislative requirements.
• Provide practical guidance, mentoring and task allocation to field crews.
• Operate and oversee plant and equipment including jetting, vacuum, vehicles and machinery.
• Support investigations, defect identification and technical problem-solving.
• Complete job documentation, reporting and work orders accurately and on time.
