Job summary

Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council is hiring a Water Industry Operator to operate, maintain and develop our water, sewerage and urban stormwater networks. You will significantly contribute to essential community services and regularly inspect, report and record work activities.

The role requires leadership with staff development, and use of Microsoft Office, monitoring systems and electronic records management. A 9-day fortnight and on-call periods apply.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience in work relating to water, recycled water, sewer and/or urban stormwater maintenance and operations.
• Actively contributes to team success with the ability to effectively lead and support other staff members.
• Can effectively use Microsoft suite of programs, monitoring and surveillance systems and electronic records management software.

Job description

The Package: $84,518.72 to $93,391.48 per annum ($42.77 - $47.26 an hour) plus 12% superannuation paid under the Water and Wastewater Industry Operators Enterprise Agreement. The position is equivalent to Grade 11 in the QPRC Salary System 2026.

Full-time – 38 hours per week. 9-day fortnight conditions will apply.
