Job summary

Ventia is seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to join the team at Western Sydney Airport. The role focuses on routine inspection, maintenance, testing, fault finding and reporting of mechanical systems in water treatment facilities, with potential expansion to broader facilities maintenance as the site develops.

The position offers a long-term contract, with on-site work, Monday to Friday hours, and a rotating on-call roster.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Fitter and Turner trade qualification.
• Driver licence (NSW).
• Experience with water or wastewater treatment facilities preferred.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, test and fault-find mechanical systems at water treatment facilities.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, valves and rotating equipment.
• Record maintenance, inspections and asset information in systems.
• Coordinate with Electrical Technicians and contractors; participate in outages and commissioning.
