Job summary

Mott MacDonald in South Australia invites a Design Manager to lead the planning, design and delivery of water infrastructure, from networks to treatment. You will interface with local teams and offshore delivery, overseeing digital designers and ensuring compliance with WSAA standards.

We seek an engineering professional with leadership potential, strong communication, and experience in water/wastewater digital design projects, ready to mentor junior staff and contribute to bid opportunities.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Engineering/Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (minimum).
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, Revit, 12D Model (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience as a digital designer delivering water and wastewater projects.
• Extensive knowledge of WSAA standards and drawings, including SEQ amendments.
• Experience or aspiration to lead a team of digital designers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Experience setting up and managing CDEs such as ProjectWise, BIM360, ACC and/or Synergy 12D.
• Excellent communication and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate a team of digital designers for programming and budgeting to standards.
• Collaborate with partner design/construction organisations and client members.
• Support, develop and mentor junior digital designers.
• Apply past construction and commissioning experience to digital design.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.
• Support and provide input to new bid opportunities.
